Periodico 5

The College encourages its students to explore original forms of expression and new communication methods.

With this goal in mind, it has launched Periodico 5, a magazine entirely conceived and produced by the college students. They have acted as representatives of their community, sharing their perspectives on themselves and the world around them with courage and creativity, without filters. The chosen format is that of a “Fanzine,” the most free-spirited and non-conventional form of independent publishing. Through this initiative, students have embarked on an unconventional journey to present a unique and compelling “generational” viewpoint, extending beyond their academic pursuits.

Under the expert guidance of Alessandro “Jumbo” Manfredini, a graphic designer and art director who oversaw the editorial process, students have captured their daily lives, passions, moods, and societal critiques on paper. The initial two editions were distributed in collaboration with La Gazzetta di Modena in December 2021 and June 2022.

This project is part of Laboratory 2026, a participatory initiative by the Fondazione Collegio San Carlo aimed at reflecting on the institution’s past, present, and future educational mission as it approaches its four hundredth anniversary.
